June 3, 2020

Gladwin Free Methodist Church,

It pleases me to share with you our plan for re-opening the facility and the measures we are taking to provide a safe and healthy environment for spiritual nourishment.  Our first worship service will be held Sunday, June 14, 2020 at 9:30am.  Like most other organizations, we will not be continuing just like we were before our time apart due to the COVID19 pandemic. Please take time to review the items below to understand our measures of safety.
  1. If you do not feel well, please do not come to our facility. We love you and we do want to worship with you. For your sake and the sake of others, please stay home and join us online (gladwingfmc.online.church) or request a CD if you are not feeling well.
  2. We encourage the use of precautionary measures recommended by the CDC. Measures have been taken to help with social distancing. Community items such as pew Bibles and hymnals have been removed. Offerings will continue through online giving, mail-in, or drop box in foyer (checks only please). We also encourage the use of a face mask. Items such as hand sanitizer and face masks will be made available should you need to use them.
  3. Our time together will be shortened.  We will  not be meeting for Sunday School or fellowship time. As such, the back (east) portion of the building will be closed.  Additionally, we will not be providing nursery during services.
  4. We love the opportunity we’ve had in recent weeks to worship with our families.  Doing so will continue as we are asking individual households only to share a pew.  In other words, sit with the people you live with and offer a friendly smile or wave to those you don’t.
  5. AND, we are a church family- we miss each other. Please resist the urge to hug or shake hands. Instead, offer an air hug or a friendly wave.
Your Board of Administration and pastoral team continue to work with the Office of the Superintendent to act with wisdom in how and when we gather at our facility. We trust your desire to gather for worship is as great as ours and recognize the importance of doing so safely.

In Christ,

Pastor Steve
